Vendor Network

  1. How is Connect4Training different from the many free directories of training vendors that I can access on the web?
    Connect4Training offers much more than any of the free directories. For starters, the vendor profiles in our network are much more detailed. A typical listing in a free directory offers basic contact information such as company name, telephone number and web site address. By contrast, our vendor profiles contain complete descriptions of each company, their areas of expertise, modes of delivery, experience and much more. These in-depth profiles give you a much better sense of each vendor's abilities, and allow us to create more precise matches to your requirements during a search.

    Secondly, we consider all the vendors in our network as partners. We communicate with them frequently and encourage them to keep their profile up-to-date. This ensures that our network information is always fresh and that we can quickly deliver accurate matches to your searches.

    Thirdly, our network does not stand alone. We wrap a full range of search services and vendor management products around it, providing personal guidance in finding the training vendors that are right for you.

  3. How do you find the training vendors who register in your network? Where do they come from?
    We invest heavily in advertising, trade shows and conferences in order to continually attract quality vendors to our network. We attend most of the major international trade shows and conferences such as ASTD, CSTD, Linkage, SHRM and TechLearn.

    We also acquire many of our vendors through referrals and word of mouth. If you are approached directly by a vendor, we encourage you to direct them to our vendor sign-up page. Referring vendors to our web site cuts your administrative time significantly because you no longer have to collect or maintain their information. Instead, vendors add themselves to our network and their profile can then be matched against any of your future search criteria.

  5. How do you screen the training vendors who register in your network?
    We encourage all legitimate training vendors to register a profile in our network. No screens are applied at this initial stage. Those come later, at the vendor search stage.

    When you send us a vendor search request, we screen all the companies in our network to find those that generally fit your selection criteria. Each vendor on this initial match list is then more rigorously evaluated using interviews with the vendors, reference checks, and, often, a review of the vendor's program or materials.

    No. When performing a personalized search for you, we use the vendor network as a starting point only. Our search services also include further investigations to uncover suitable training companies for your needs.

    Most of our customers are large companies that purchase high volumes of external training resources. We also deal with smaller companies and government organizations who come to us less frequently to locate and pre-qualify training resources.

    Whatever your training needs, we can help you find the right vendor. We have successfully performed searches for everything from customized instructor-led programs and e-learning to keynote addresses and facilitators.

    No, we are not a training supplier. We connect companies that sell training services and products with companies that buy training services and products. We do this by offering search services and vendor management software.

  7. How quickly will you respond after I submit my search requirements?
    Once you submit your search requirements, you can expect a phone call from a Connection Advisor within four hours. Our Connection Advisor talks to you to clarify the kind of training you are looking for, as well as the qualities or credentials you are seeking from the provider. We tell you upfront what we estimate as your chances of locating vendors that closely match your needs.

    Our search process then moves into action. From there, you can expect to receive a complete Premier Search report with recommended vendors in 10 - 15 business days. An Express Search report is delivered in 3 - 6 days.

  9. What is the Connect4Training Request for Information (RFI) process? How is it different from the Request for Proposal (RFP) process?
    The Connect4Training RFI process is a highly focused and streamlined process that saves time and effort for everyone involved.

    It starts with a conversation with you and other members of your team to get a clear picture of your training requirements. We summarize your needs into a short document, called a Request for Information, that is then distributed to a select handful of training vendors. The vendors prepare a brief response matched to the customized questions we've asked.

    We then take the vendor responses and craft a profile document for you. This RFI document contains the specific details you need to make an informed decision about choosing one of the vendors, nothing more, nothing less. You no longer have to wade through RFP documents of 30 or 50 or 100 pages from hopeful yet unqualified vendors trying to pull out comparison points.

  11. Will you be able to find me training vendors from my city or local region?
    Almost always, yes. Connect4Training has a network of more than 2,500 training vendors from major cities across North America, and some locations overseas. If you want to work with a local company, chances are very good we can find one for you.
